People suffering from this disease usually present with emotional lability, excess emotionalism,
and a certain level of emotional discontrol, which is regarded pathological. This condition of extremely
frequent episodes of laughing and crying is associated with a number of neurological diseases such as stroke,
multiple sclerosis, Alzheimerís disease, and traumatic brain injury. Depression is common in the context of
the chronic illness. Pseudobulbar affect can be modulated through pharmacological intervention.
